McSpedon and his team of high-tech contractors had come in from Costa Rica and Nicaragua, Washington and Denver. Their mission: to launch a messaging network that could reach hundreds of thousands of Cubans...McSpedon didn't work for the CIA. This was a program paid for and run by the US Agency for International Development, best known for overseeing billions of dollars in US humanitarian aid to install and protect US dictatorships.

Missing Plane: Malaysia 'Concealing Information' --'There is no reason as to why they are not able to detect the flight movement.' 04 Apr 2014 The Malaysian government has been deliberately concealing information about missing flight MH370, the country's main opposition leader has claimed. In an interview with Sky News, Anwar Ibrahim cast doubt on official accounts coming from the authorities in his country and accused ministers of a "betrayal of trust" over their handling of the investigation. Veteran politician Anwar said it was "not only unacceptable but not possible, not feasible" that the plane had not been sighted by the sophisticated Marconi radar system immediately after it changed course. He claimed the radar would have instantly detected the jet as it travelled east to west across "at least four" Malaysian provinces.

Malaysia jet probe turns to food, cargo 02 Apr 2014 Malaysia investigators said Wednesday they may never find out why a Malaysia Airlines jetliner vanished without a trace more than three weeks ago as search planes and ships scoured the Indian Ocean for wreckage. "At the end of the investigations, we may not even know the real cause. We may not even know the reason for this incident," Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar said. Khalid also said investigators are checking on the provider of the food delivered to the plane before takeoff to eliminate the possibility that it had been poisoned, and are looking into the cargo loaded onto the jet.

Fort Hood Shooting After 'Escalating Argument' 05 Apr 2014 A soldier who [allegedly] shot dead three colleagues at an US Army base had been involved in an "escalating argument" before the attack. The senior officer at Fort Hood said Ivan Lopez had an altercation with fellow soldiers in his unit on the day of the shooting. Lieutenant General Mark Milley also said the 34-year-old's mental condition was not the "direct precipitating factor" in the attack. The three soldiers Lopez shot dead before turning the gun on himself have been identified as 39-year-old Daniel Ferguson, 38-year-old Carlos Rodriguez and 37-year-old Timothy Owens.

Fort Hood Gunman 'Showed No Signs of Violence' 04 Apr 2014 The Fort Hood gunman had shown no signs of violence or suicidal tendencies before he opened fire at the US Army base, officials have said. Lieutenant General Mark Milley said there is a "strong possibility" Lopez had a verbal altercation with another soldier or soldiers prior to the shooting. But he urged caution against speculating on any possible motive until the investigation had run its course and said there was no indication he targeted specific troops.

Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan was convicted and sentenced to death last year in the Nov. 5, 2009, attack at Fort Hood. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives traced the gun used in Wednesday's attack to a local gun shop last night, a federal law enforcement official who is not authorized to comment publicly said. The official confirmed that the gun had been purchased at Guns Galore, the same shop that sold a weapon to Hasan.

Chris Christie's spokesman, Michael Drewniak, who added that Drewniak appeared before the grand jurors today and testified as a witness. Scott Walker's 'Observers' to Be Three Feet Away in Voting Booth 03 Apr 2014 The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports: 'Election observers could stand a few feet from voters and poll workers, under one of a series of election bills Gov. Scott Walker signed in private Wednesday. The law would allow observers [aka thugs sent to intimidate the elderly and minorities, to minimize registration/turnout for Democrats] to stand 3 to 8 feet from the table where voters announce their names and addresses and are issued voter numbers, or from the table where people register to vote.' Democratic opponents of the proposal warned of intimidation, voter harassment, and according to one state senator, observers "breathing down the necks of poll workers." They did not, however, have the votes to stop the measure.
