Permanent deep hole in the pockets of every Bombay resident.
Dear friend,
1. The BMC, errrr, it is the State of Maharashtra who has imposed a property tax based on its Capital value upon the residents of Bombay. This tax, if survived, would leave permanent deep hole in the pockets of every Bombay resident.
2. Numbers of Writ Petitions have been filed in the Bombay High Court, inter alia, challenging this system. The Janhit Manch, NGO based in Bombay, has also filed a PIL in this regard.
3. However, I would request the Bombay people to raise their vehement objection to this taxation. I would urge every Bombay people to write a letter to the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court in this regard. I have prepared a draft Letter Petition of about 10 pages. Pls find file attached.
4. At the cost of repetition, this tax, if survived, would leave permanent deep hole in the pockets of every Bombay resident.
