Online and on street corners, in homes and in businesses, the idea of purposefully bringing Ebola into the United States has rattled the nerves of many. Obama administration censors 'significant portions' of CIA torture report, Feinstein delays its release 2 Aug 2014 The Obama administration censored significant portions of the findings of an investigation into the CIA's use of harsh interrogation methods on torture of suspected terrorists, forcing the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee to delay their release "until further notice." The postponement late Friday added to serious frictions over the investigation between the administration and lawmakers, who have been pressing for the swiftest, most extensive publication of the findings on one of darkest chapters in the CIA's 65-year history. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) announced the delay only hours after the White House returned the document to her after it completed its declassification review.

BP files appeal of settlement to U.S. Supreme Court [And, we all know how the five Koch suckers will vote on this one.] 2 Aug 2014 Late Fridaynight, BP filed its formal petition to the U.S. Supreme Court claiming that lower courts in New Orleans erroneously approved a multi-billion-d-llar settlement that is paying claimants that were not hurt by the company's 2010 oil spill. The writ of certiorari petition, which asks the Supreme Court to take up the case, has been expected since May, when the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected BP's attempts to undo the massive damage settlement it agreed to and helped craft in 2012. Ohio Governor John Kasich declared a state of emergency for the region, freeing up resources for the Ohio National Guard and state workers to truck safe water to people who need it.
