Defend Academic Freedom! Demand University Reinstate Palestinian-American Professor!

Dear Romi,
This morning, news broke of yet another attempt to silence criticism of Israel on university campuses.

This time,
Dr. Steven Salaita, a Palestinian American and world-renowned scholar, wasfired from his new position at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) because of his public criticism of the U.S.-sponsored Israeli massacres in Gaza. He was also a prominent campaigner for the American Studies Association’s decision to boycott Israeli academic institutions last December.

TAKE ACTION! Click here to email the UIUC Chancellor’s Office and demand they reinstate Professor Salaita!

Earlier this year, your action in support of academic freedom led to the successful reinstatement of Students for Justice in Palestine at Northeastern University. After thousands of supporters contacted San Francisco State University, they issued a statement clearing Palestinian-American professor Rabab Abdulhadi of any wrongdoing after a smear campaign by right-wing, pro-Israel group AMCHA Initiative.

You can make a difference again!
