We are pleased to announce the launch of
eNatya Chaupal, our new e-initiative for theatre in collaboration with
Astitva. eNatya Chaupal will be a unique web hangout that will host play readings, talks and discussions related to theatre. Our first �chaupal� will take place on June 15 and will feature the Sahitya Akademi award-winning Indian English playwright-director
Mahesh Dattani. Speaking to him will be
Jehan Manekshaw, the founder and director of
Theatre Professionals and of the
Drama School Mumbai (DSM). Jehan Manekshaw will be engaging Mahesh Dattani in a conversation about his plays and his recent book
'Me and My Plays'. If you are interested in participating in the discussion post the conversation, you can send us a request with a few lines about yourself to

Jim Sarbh. Jim has been involved with theatre in Mumbai since the past few years. Two classics-
Arthur Miller's DEATH OF A SALESMAN (directed by
Alyque Padamsee) and
Tennessee Williams' THE GLASS MENAGERIE (directed by
Rajit Kapur) have given Jim the big ticket and he is indeed, one of the most talented actors in English theatre in Mumbai today. He has recently devised a children's production called
EAT! with co-actors
Ratnabali Bhattacharjee and
Suhaas Ahuja and is now making his directorial debut with
Mike Bartlett's award-winning play
BULL. The play opens at the Tarq art gallery in Colaba on June 6.

Writers' Bloc has extended its deadline for submitting plays to June 25. This is a very good opportunity for those who are serious about playwriting and who wish to develop and stage their plays.
KING LEAR will be screened at the NCPA on Monday, June 9. The production has been directed by
Sam Mendesand the theatre screening is part of the
NCPA and the UK's National Theatre (NT) Live programme.
