Why Do Some Rape Deserve Anger and Others Do Not?
In the recent months, incidents of rape and other forms of violence against women have created lots of furore and anguish, and rightly so amongst middle class throughout the country. However, what is interesting to note is that the response to such crimes was/is highly selective. The following table enlists 101 cases of brutal crimes against Dalit Women (reported between Damini/Nirbhaya Case, 16th Dec 2012 and Aasaram Arrest, 31st Aug 2013) which could hardly outrage the consciences of people.
