SC/ST Commission askes to report all the details of Santana Mondal case
New Delhi: A joint delegation comprising of Jagmati Sangwan, General Secretary AIDWA, Sudha Sundararaman Vice President (AIDWA); Annie Raja, General Secretary NFIW; Nisha Sharma, YWCA representing the National Women’s Organizations All India Women’s Association (AIDWA) and National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW), Joint Women’s Programme (JWP), Guild of Service (GOS), Young Women Christian Association (YTWCA) , Muslim Women’s Forum , All India Dalit Mahila Adhikar Manch (AIDMAM) , All India Women’s Conference met NHRC Chairperson, SC/ST Commission Incharge (Haryana & West Bengal) and Chief Election Commissioner. The delegation submitted a memorandum prepared regarding the outrageous acts of violence on women in general and a most heinous episode of attack on Santana Mandal a 35 year old dalit agriculture woman by Trinamool Congress (TMC) goons in Hooghly district of West Bengal during the election campaigning and polling process. The details of suffering of the victims were placed in front of them for their urgent and immediate intervention. Jagmati Sangwan, General Secretary, AIDWA told, “The SC/ST Commission Member Mr. Ishwar Singh spoke to the incharge of the Human Rights Commission in West Bengal and asked to report all the details of Santana Mondal case to him by 5 PM today itself.” The NHRC chairperson expressed his serious concern towards the attack on women those who are coming forward to play their political role.
